Bonjour!

Disposable cameras were my jam in the 90's. My selfie game was strong, even then. Then I evolved to the small pocket-sized digital cameras. I tapped into learning photography with a DSLR (digital slow lens release) camera in 2009 and began my Marsha N. Wilson Photography business in 2010, primarily, but not exclusively, doing lifestyle and professional headshots. I have photographed many events, personal/lifestyle photos, headshots, babies/toddlers and bigger kids, tweens and teens, street photography, concerts/performances, meetings, product photography, dancers, and much more over the last 14 years. On this page, I will only be sharing a very small and select few of the photos I have taken over the years. My photography website with a bit of a more extensive "catalogue" can be found at the bottom of the photography section on this page.

I had the honor and enjoyment of studying abroad in Lacoste, France where I created some of my favorite works. Below is a mix of my photographic works, majority of them being shots from France in the summer of 2013, followed by miscellaneous photographic works.

/   *Fun Fact: I had just been introduced to photographer Lorna Simpson in Spike Lee's "Brooklyn Boheme" documentary when I came across her exhibit unexpectedly in Paris, France. My jaw dropped and I was elated.   /

Howard U Days

During my time at Howard University, I participated in Alternative Spring Break in Chicago, Illinois with other Howard students + faculty, politicians, religious figures, and locals to protest against gun violence. I was one of the group leaders for the occasion and also coordinated with the photography department to serve as the journalistic photographer to capture integral moments throughout our experience. These images would represent our entire group's encounters, as a whole, as other photographers were selected to represent and document the other cities that Howard students traveled to for ASB, including New Orleans and Atlanta.

DESIGN

GRAPHIc

My love of graphic design began in 2006 when I was introduced to Adobe Suite, namely Photoshop + Illustrator, in school while studying fashion design. We had assignments that required us to make collages and mood boards using Photoshop. My love of compositing images and telling a story using fonts/texts and images played a major role in fashion design school and came in handy when I began my photography business and creating branding products for clients, such as flyers, concert tickets, brochures, business cards, logos, magazines, books, etc. A fun fact: I worked at The Children's Place corporate as an intern in 2010. I was placed in finance to see how corporate effects the ends and outs of the retail floor. I self-iniated and asked to visit some of the other departments I was interested in, Graphic Design being one of them. The Graphic Design Department invited me to come up with and research graphics online that would be good to use as inspiration for kids' apparel that The Children's Place would sell. Boy, I had a TIME!
