PUBLICATION

s

I experienced my first newspaper publishing in a local newspaper between ages 5 and 7 years old. I was later featured for being Youth of the Year at the Boys & Girls Club Simi Valley around age 9, as well as at my 6th grade middle school for winning a fun contest. I was also featured on the front cover of the newspaper at CSUN (Cal State University Northridge) when I was there visiting my sister's and mother's classes. There were students protesting the charges made in the Jena 6 case in Louisiana and as we held our poster boards up and chanted throughout the campus: during this time, our collective photos were captured and featured.

Though I wasn't a student as CSUN, I was frequently on campus with my family, visiting their classes and becoming the self-proclaimed historian for the Hip Hop Think Tank. Some of my poems were featured in the Hip Hop Think Tank journal. An art work that I drew using charcoal for my art class also served as a Hip Hop Think Tank logo for a short time and featured on t-shirts (seen below).

I've had the honor of co-creating and constructing a magazine, which was the mastermind of my niece, Malaika, named Moon Vibes Magazine; creating and publishing a book that celebrated the beauty of the vast representation of different color complexions in the Black community; being featured in research papers, historical books about Los Angeles (photo that is featured of me, my family and Malcolm Jamal Warner is below), being featured in the SCAD newspaper alongside other SCAD study abroad students, as Artist of the Month on a website, on Voyage ATL's website, having my photographic works featured in publications, being invited and featured as the tarot reader for a virtual event, being interviewed for a podcast, and more.

Below are some of the works that I have been featured in, from my visual art to my intuitive craft.

Click the PDF to view the abbreviated Moon Vibes Volume 1 magazine. The selected pages feature 59 out of the 120 published pages. These 59 pages will show work from my colleagues, Jayme and Malaika, but they focus on my favorite pages that showcase my layout/composition, font selection, written content and art .

VoyageATL

I was interviewed and featured in VoyageATL, an online publication that features local artists in their online media outlet.

Witchever Path Podcast Interview

A couple, who are both artists, that I met online a couple of years ago reached out to interview me for their podcast. It was a refreshing, organic + pleasant interaction.

Black Legends Revue

I was invited to host a general tarot reading during intermission for this amazing event.
